(More customer reviews)I live in Thailand where all drinking water comes in large plastic containers, most of which bake in the hot sun for hours while being transported to shops to be sold. So even the best quality drinking water here tastes of plastics, chemicals and metals.
Now I simply pour this 'drinking water' through my beloved Berkey Light and it comes out tasting like heaven! So pure, so tasteless and some how it even feels like 'wetter' water in my mouth. Perhaps the water molecules are reduced in size due to the extensive filtering.
NOTE: if you are attaching the white PF-2 Flouride Filters be sure not to turn them more than the recommended 8 turns, I didn't read the instructions fully and when I attached them I heard a crunch - I managed to break the media screen by turning too much - hope this doesn't end up harming my health too much!
I cannot recommend this product highly enough - 5 stars!
I wish I had invested in one of these 5 years ago!

One thing I would say, though, is make sure you turn the water off to the frig before you change the filter. My husband didn't do that and we had a flood in the frig.

(More customer reviews)After several years of using pitcher based cartridges that are a fumble to work with, technically marginal in offering only minor purification and fairly costly in the long run, we decided to buy a more robust system. This unit is much better at removing nasties from the water - although our city water is reasonably pure to begin with. This under-sink system is more cost effective and far more convenient without the overflow bits of charcoal that tend to escape from more primitive filters. The installation took about 15 minutes ad was straightforward. The longest part of preparing however was finding one critical piece. The system ships with a T fixture to join with the under-sink cold water line that did not match our plumbing. Go to a plumbing supply company rather than the corner hardware store for this item if you need it. The flow is great. Having it on the sink means that we can more easily use this for all cooking as well as the quick refreshing drink.

The water actually really does taste different than out of the Brita filter I have. It's hard to describe but I think the brita water tastes less balanced and more chemical. I rinse my teeth with fluoride every night and floss, that's enough fluoride for me! Brittle bones, no thank you. I'll update this review in a few months if I remember.

The carbon filters fit and function well. However, the filters are a bit expensive and it took almost a month from the time I ordered these until I actually received the item. I going to try to refill/recycle the filters myself useing activated carbon from a Homebrew or Aquarium store. Would be a lot cheaper and I wouldn't need to wait so long

I was definitely hesitant to purchase this because of the lack of reviews and having never heard of the company before, but I haven't had a single issue with it (set up was not as painful as I thought it would be) and their customer service is freaking outstanding!
I am thrilled with this thing. I don't keep it in the fridge. I actually keep it on a raised counter top next to the sink (easy to fill and easy to access). The main problem I was having with tap water was indigestion and since I started using this, I haven't had any issues like I was having. The water tastes fantastic...it tastes like nothing. There are no "unknowns" floating around in it...it really is a great purifier.
I can't say much about the "Magnetized Water" because I just sort of skipped over that feature since I had no interest in it, but I can say that right now I'm close to a computer monitor and NO problems...if that helps. *wink*
So, yeah, I've tried Brita, I've tried Pur, I hated the expense of using any of their various systems (I tried many) and I drink a LOT of water, so I wanted something big. I have to refill this about every 2 days (I just use an empty coffee container to fill the reservoir - so easy) and I've only had to clean it once since purchasing it (the cleaning process is awesome too...everything is pretty much awesome about this beast).
I would absolutely recommend this to strangers as I've already recommended it to friends.

As our Kenmore refrigerator is the type that dispenses ice and water, we felt that installing an inline filter was a good idea. This filter does a great job of eliminating the strong chlorinated flavor that was in our water. In fact, the difference is so obvious, even our kids commented.
My husband knows his way around a tool box so the installation of this filter was fairly routine for him. However, those who are intimidated by the idea of making burr free cuts in a water line may want to look at a different filtering solution. The filter is fairly small and easily tucks away out of sight behind the appliance without forcing the unit further out into the room.

My opinion: I have avoided drinking water out of my frig since I got these filters because I might as well be drinking out of the tap. The only way I can drink the water out of my frig is if it's so cold I can't taste it. Even slightly chilled is terrible. I would rather spend the extra money and get a good filter that gives me bottled water quality out of my frig.
If you don't drink straight water out of your frig, the filter is fine, but if you drink water frequently, spend the money and get you a good filter.

So went in search of something better. I found this one and was intrigued. I decided to give it a try and am so glad I did. My ice cubes are clearer than with the Brita water. The taste is phenomenal! It even holds more water than a Brita pitcher which is a big plus to me as I drink a lot of water. The only negative to me is the bottom of the pitcher. It is designed to fit in the door of the refrigerator, but I prefer it on my shelf instead. Thus it is a little wobbly when I go to place it on the shelf and need to be sure to set it at an angle so it doesn't tip over. Otherwise I would have rated this a 5 hands down. Recommend this pitcher highly. I am still on my first filter after a month. I drink ice tea all day long as I work from home. Thus I go through a lot of filtered water.

Brita 42401 On-Tap Replacement Filter, 1-Pack Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using the Brita faucet mount for 2 years now. Our water is VERY hard, with sulfur smells and rust, and the Brita works as well as our reverse osmosis unit, which has three in-line filters. Plus, it doesn't slow down like the reverse osmosis unit does when using lots of water (family gatherings, etc). It is NOT as fast as normal tap water, so don't go thinking you'll get tap-water speed out of such an intense filter. I have to replace the filter approximately every 2-3 months, depending on usage. Very handy when the r/o unit starts running out of water. I tend to use both the r/o and the Brita when filling a pot for boiling, etc just to make it go faster. I've used both the PUR and Brita, Brita works better on our water, although, for best taste, I also run it through a pitcher filter (as I said, our water is BAD). Tastes better than spring water!
