(More customer reviews)I'm writing this because there seem to be ZERO reviews about these things...user info on this model in particular is almost non-existent on the web. I just started airbrushing in order to do custom work on guitar and bass pickguards and made the mistake of "going cheap" with my hardware. I'm not going to talk about the rest of my equipment, just this pressure regulator. I bought one from tcpglobal and when I finally had the chance to try it the thing wouldn't give me more than 10psi. I realize I'm a novice and that I could have definitely made some sort of error, so I tried and re-tried everything before giving up. I even completely disassembled and cleaned my airbrush and when it still didn't work, I bought two new hoses "just in case". I finally accepted that the regulator must be faulty and contacted tcp for a replacement. They were nice and efficient and getting a new regulator shipped out to me was a painless process. The only complaint I have on their part is that this thing doesn't come with instructions so, if you're new like me, you're flying blind.
To make a long story short, the replacement came and I still had the same problem. This time it wouldn't go past 6-8psi and lost all pressure when I triggered air! I should say here that I got more air pressure when I was hooked straight to my compressor. Turning the pressure knob did nothing except for the cm turn it took to get "full" pressure. Noticeable air loss can also be felt coming out from all over the unit. If you're reading this because you're just starting out and you're looking for an inexpensive way to keep moisture off your work and adjust your air pressure then quickly hit the back button and look for something better. Spending a little more for the next best piece of hardware might just keep you from getting frustrated (like me) and thinking about selling your gear to recoup your losses (like me).
